The Artist
Alexandria is a self-taught artist based between Alberta and Vancouver, specializing in textured mountain landscapes created through expressive palette knife work. She began painting while living in the mountains, and that deep connection to the alpine environment continues to shape and inform her work.
More recently, she has expanded her practice by painting on retired snowboards - an organic evolution that merges her artistic style with the culture and landscape that first inspired it.
Her work extends beyond the canvas, with a growing focus on interactive experiences, including live painting and immersive installations that invite viewers to engage with the artwork in a more tangible and personal way.
Her work has collectors across Canada/internationally, and has grown beyond painting originals in her studio to include interior murals, live paintings, and custom commissions.
”When Worlds Collide”
By Alexandria Mackie & Kayla Sommer
After meeting at an Art Walk a few years back, Alexandria and Kayla had always long admired each others work. A true meeting of minds and mediums, When Worlds Collide is a striking collaboration that blends the distinct styles, emotions, and energies of two artists into one cohesive, evocative piece.
