About
I’m Alexandria Mackie, a self-taught artist based in Edmonton, Alberta. I create contemporary mountain landscapes inspired by calming colors and expressive, layered strokes. I primarily paint with Golden and Liquitex heavy body acrylics, using brushes, palette knives, and carving tools. Occasionally, I experiment with materials like cement and drywall compound to add texture and dimension to my work.
As a kid, I was rarely without a pencil and sketchbook in hand. Growing up in Edmonton, I spent much of my childhood skiing, camping, and exploring the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia. It wasn’t until 2020, while living in the BC Kootenays, that I picked up a palette knife and paintbrush for the first time. That’s when my painting style truly started to take shape.
I hope my work reflects my love for the mountains and the joy I feel while creating it. It’s incredibly rewarding to see others connect with my art, and I’m grateful to have collectors across Canada and beyond. This journey has been such an adventure, and I’m excited to see where it leads next!
